The Tongue — Our Double-Edged Weapon
The tongue is one of humanity’s greatest tools, yet also one of its most dangerous weapons. With it, we shape worlds, build bridges, and inspire hope. But with the same tongue, we can destroy trust, wound hearts, and dismantle peace.
Words are never disappear; they linger in memory, echo in silence, and ripple through generations. A kind word can lift someone from despair, while a cruel one can crush their spirit.
The tongue tastes sweetness and bitterness, but more importantly, it reveals the flavor of our character.
To master the tongue is to master influence. Wisdom lies not in silence alone, but in knowing when to speak, how to speak, and why to speak. Every utterance is a choice — to heal or to harm, to build or to break. The tongue can work for us or against us. The decision is ours Use it wisely.
Poem:
The Weight of Words
The tongue is a flame,
gentle or wild,
It whispers of truth,
or deceives with a smile.
It can be honey,
soft on the ear,
Or venom that lingers,
feeding on fear.
It lifts the weary,
or drags them low,
It plants the seeds,
of what we sow.
So guard it well,
this weapon of might,
Speak with wisdom,
and wield it right.
Let it be a weapon
To heal, be kind
Be the difference
Use it wisely.
Know when to stay silent.
Better to stay silent,
Turn the other cheek.
Walk away when you can.
Quote
The tongue is a sword and a balm — it cuts or it heals depending on the hand that wields it. Use it wisely.
Advice
Guard the Power of Your Words
The tongue is a mirror of the soul — it reflects what lies within. Every word we speak carries energy: it can heal, inspire, or destroy.
Before you speak, pause and ask yourself — will these words build or break?
Speak with purpose, not impulse. When emotions rise, silence is strength. When wisdom speaks, peace follow.
The tongue can turn enemies into friends or friends into strangers; it can open doors or close them forever. Use your words to uplift, not to wound.
Speak truth, but wrap it in kindness. Let your voice be a balm to those who listen, not a blade that cuts unseen.
Remember, silence is not weakness — it is wisdom waiting for the right moment. The tongue is a double-edged weapon; wield it with grace, and it will serve you well.
